- Where To Go
If you ask a Vietnamese to choose a color which describes Hue, the answer must be “Purple”. Purple stand for peace, sadness and romanticism. The Imperial is a must sightseeing in Vietnam.
Hue City constitutes the cultural, political and economic centre of the province, and was the old imperial city of Viet Nam under the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 to 1945. Nowadays, its complex of temples, a library and museum, centred on the imperial citadel, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1993. Some of the most historic monuments in Hue are the Citadel, the tomb of Emperor Minh Mang, the tomb of Emperor Tu Duc, Thien Mu Pagoda and the Hon Chen Temple.
Hue is known for not only many tombs, pagodas, temples, a library and museum which lie everywhere in and around, but also the Perfume River crosses the city. In the autumn, flowers from orchards upriver from Huế fall into the water, giving the river a perfume-like aroma, hence the soubriquet
Traditionally, Hue has been one of the main cultural, historical and educational Center. With a huge complex of Royal Tombs, remain of Citadel, ancient Pagodas, and Gardening Houses. Hue has become a must-see place to anyone who has been to Viet Nam ever once.
